Samsung's Tizen operating system runs on the vast majority of the brand's TVs from the last several years, and it's genuinely one of the more pleasant Smart TV platforms to install IPTV on — provided you know which route to take. There are a couple of ways in, and the right one for you mostly depends on how old your TV is. Here's the full process, along with the fixes for the handful of things that commonly trip people up.
Check Your Tizen Version First
Before installing anything, it helps to know roughly how recent your TV's software is. Go to Settings > Support > About This TV (or Device Care) and note the software version. TVs from the last three to four years run modern Tizen builds and have full access to the Samsung Smart Hub app store; older models are more limited and usually need a workaround app instead.
Option 1: Installing an IPTV App from the Smart Hub
On newer Samsung TVs, press the Home button on your remote, scroll to Apps, and use the search icon to look for an IPTV player. Availability varies by region and by year, since Samsung periodically changes which apps it approves for the store. If a suitable app appears, install it as you would any other app, open it, and enter your playlist URL or Xtream Codes login details when prompted.
Option 2: Sideloading via a Third-Party App Store
If your preferred app isn't listed in the Smart Hub — which is common, since Samsung's review process is fairly strict — the standard workaround is installing a third-party app store first, then installing the IPTV app through that. This adds one extra step but works reliably across almost all Tizen versions.

Search the Smart Hub for a general-purpose sideloading tool (these are legitimate, widely used utilities, not modified firmware). Once installed, open it and browse its own catalog rather than Samsung's — this is where you'll usually find a wider selection of IPTV players.
Entering Your Subscription Details
Once the IPTV app is installed, open it and choose the login method your provider gave you — either pasting an M3U playlist URL, or entering an Xtream Codes server address, username and password. On-screen keyboards on TVs are slow to type long URLs into, so where possible, use the Samsung SmartThings companion app on your phone to send text to the TV, or double-check every character carefully with the remote.
Getting the Best Picture on a Samsung TV
Samsung TVs apply their own picture processing on top of whatever the app sends, which can occasionally make streams look softer than expected. In Settings > Picture, switching the Picture Mode to "Movie" or "Filmmaker Mode" usually gives the most accurate result for IPTV content, since it disables aggressive motion smoothing that can introduce artifacts on live streams.

The most frequent issue is an app that installs but crashes immediately on open — this is almost always a Tizen compatibility mismatch, and switching to a different IPTV app in the same third-party store usually resolves it. The second most common problem is a playlist that loads channels but shows a black screen when you select one, which typically points to a firewall or ISP restriction rather than the TV itself; connecting to a different Wi-Fi network briefly can help confirm this.
Alternative: Casting or Screen Mirroring
If sideloading feels like more than you want to deal with, casting from a phone or laptop is a reliable fallback.
